Dream Group

“Group work with dreams regularly generates ongoing relationships that become sources of deep emotional and psychological support of tremendous benefit to all involved.”  -Jeremy Taylor

What Are Dreams?

Dreams are more than just nighttime adventures. They are messages from our unconscious mind, revealing aspects of who we are and what we are wrestling with under the surface. According to CG Jung, dreams have "vital significance for the conscious orientation."

Benefits of Dreamwork

Explore Your Inner World: Gain insights into the deeper meanings behind your dreams.

Professional Guidance: Led by an experienced psychotherapist specializing in depth psychotherapy.

Personal Growth: Understand and work through the challenges revealed in your dreams.

Community Support: Share and discuss your dreams in a safe and supportive environment.

Examples of Dreamwork

Authentic Storytelling: As Jonathan Gottschall noted, "dreams are, like children’s make believe, an innate form of storytelling." When we share our dreams with others, we're not just recounting random images or narratives—we're telling the authentic story of our life history.

Facing Inner Truths: Robert Johnson emphasized that ignoring the inner world can lead to psychological symptoms. Working with dreams helps us face and address these hidden issues.

Symbolic Understanding: Dreams offer us profound insights through images and associations, revealing what our deeper psyche may be perceiving and understanding.

EcoSattva Training

A Community Offering

The EcoSattva training, developed by OneEarth Sanga, was designed to support individuals in navigating the emotional challenges presented by the climate crisis. Having participated in this training from 2019-2020, I found its teachings and practices helpful in addressing my own defensive patterns, which, at times, obstructed my ability to adapt and engage deeply with the necessary changes of our time. I am now excited to offer group space and initial facilitation for those interested in connecting with like-minded individuals to explore and overcome the inner and outer barriers to adaptation and change. According to OneEarth Sanga, the EcoSattva training provides:

"an eight-part series designed to support you in developing your response, internal and external, to a changing world. We'll offer new insights from multiple Dharma traditions as well as the growing field of climate psychology as we soothe these tender bodies, hearts and minds."

I’m excited to facilitate the first gathering and provide the space for our EcoSattva group. This 4-month series will meet bi-weekly, with facilitation rotating among group members after the first session. There is a fee for the teachings through the OneEarth Sanga website, but a 25% discount is available through this link: https://oneearthsangha.org/articles/pgm-post/ecosattva-training-v6/registration/?group-id=16770&groupname=SE Portland EcoSattva Group

OneEarth Sanga has developed a set of shared agreements for participants, which align closely with my own values. I encourage all potential group members to reflect on these agreements and consider how they resonate with you. If you feel that this approach to gathering aligns with your values and you can respect and work within these agreements, I invite you to reach out and join us on this journey.
